VICTORY TO THE RESISTANCE!
The Occupation of Iraq is not going according to plan for George Bush and his cronies in the White House. More and more allied troops are coming under attack from an increasingly audacious resistance. On 25th February the total number of US combat deaths had reached 407.
As a result George Bush’s showing in American opinion polls is plummeting. From a 90%+ approval rating immediately after S11 it was down to 45% at the end of October. 62% of Americans think the death toll for US soldiers is already unacceptable and 87% fear the US is becoming bogged down in Iraq.
In fact George Bush’s chances of getting re elected next year are looking increasingly shaky.
The argument that the Iraqi resistance was just a few Sadam loyalists or mercenaries form abroad has proved to be wrong. In fact the resistance to the occupation is spreading despite the capture of Saddam Hussein by the Allies.
US/UK troops are facing an average of 35 attacks per day. But what will be equally worrying for the occupying forces is the increasing numbers who are taking to the streets to protest for benefits, restoration of services and jobs. Tens of thousands have marched, chanting "Death to America", knowing the promised "democracy" and "free elections" are a long way off.
George Bush’s solution to the crisis is to pour in more troops and money. $87 billion has been pledged from US taxpayers, that’s $435 for every eligible voter. And 30,000 reservists will be going out to join the 100,000 troops already there.
Whatever Bush tries in Iraq, it is doomed to failure. The Iraqi people want self determination. They may have hated Saddam Hussein but they hate the Americans as well.
Revolution supports the Iraqi resistance, whatever form it takes because we believe in the Iraqi's right to decide their own future.
We demand that all US/UK troops leave now..
